Otafuku

Otafuku.
East Village.

In a city of sleek 4 star restaurants, I am glad that there are hole-in-the-walls like Otafuku.
It's properly greasy and so tiny that they can't help but put some loving sweat and blood into their food. Just as it should be.
Surprisingly, this is one of the only places in the city to get okonomiyaki and...
 {Takoyaki}
Just fried golden batter orbs with a gooey hot octopus, pickled ginger, and scallion center (and you thought jelly-filled munchkins were amazing...pfft) Dress 'em up with takoyaki sauce, mayo, green aonori (seaweed) and pink katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes).
Six mini gut bombs of delicious, sweet-savory fried-ness.
Looks kind of...fishy?
Not when you're drunk :)
